A friend of Denise’s is expecting a baby in a few months. About a year ago, her then-three year old daughter got curious about the childbirth process and asked how the doctor gets the baby out. Quick-thinking Mom replies that the doctor uses magic: he just waves his wand and “Abracadabra!” the baby is out.

So, fast-forward to last week when our friend takes her now-four year old with her to the doctor’s office for a prenatal checkup. All was going well when the little girl asked the doctor, “Do you know magic?” The doctor says no, and so she follows up with “Well, does the real doctor know magic?”
